God disciplines us and closes our ways because He wants to convince us to do ourselves this great good thing. The real good thing is to turn to Him and to trust Him because only with Him it is well. If someone decides to return to God then God can immediately take away his problems and burdens and make him sing and be happy. Just ask and you will see!
