Love doesn’t mean the same thing for everybody. One is the love for a child, other is the love for a friend, and other is the love for a parent. Similarly, the love for God is different. It means to trust Him and to follow His indication. If you sing to God, if you praise Him, if you give money for His cause and preach His Word, if you don’t obey Him you don’t love Him. He will say to you at the and: “I don’t know you, that is: you don’t love me, you are not my friend (Mt 7:21-29). Jesus personally asserts that if we obey His commandments we are His friends (John 15:14), that is if we love Him we obey His commandments (John 14:15).
