Trusting in God means to make peace with Him by Christ, living in harmony with Him, and the fact that He gives you the assurance that God is with you. At this point, to trust in Him means to see Him protecting you from every evil and accepting that everything He permits in your life is from Him for your good, because He loves you perfectly and He is the most powerful. Nobody can touch you because nobody is able to confront God. And all of this without seeing Him with physical eyes but with the spiritual ones.
