In my opinion this text should be translated like this: “Songs were Your indications for me in the days of my pilgrimage”. That is: the indication of God is music for our ears in this provisory life where we live far away from our country and from our home, that are in heaven. Jesus is the Way home, the Reality of our home and our real Life to the Father. He is Tora, the Indication of God for us: “This is my beloved Son. Obey Him!”, said the Father. Jesus is music for our ears in this world and ever.
