  1. These kinds of psalms are deep enough that you can use them as a base for a sermon. The idea of this psalm is not popular between the contemporary theologians, that are speaking of the utopia of the right living, parting from the presupposition that the human being will never be able to become faithful to God. But this affirmation is indirectly an accusation to God that He is not able do what He promised, that is to deliver us from the slavery of sin. The reality is instead different: look at Enoch, at Noah, at Joseph, at Daniel and at the men of faith in Hebrew 11, then in Hebrew 12 referring to all of these like witnesses in the favor of faithfulness to God. It invites us to look at Jesus, the Generator and the Finisher of our faith and to follow Him in Gethsemane to understand that our failures are the lack of earnest prayer. Prayer is the basis of any spiritual success because spiritual life consists exclusively of the things that only God is able to provide. So we receive righteousness, sanctification, blamelessness, faithfulness and other things like this, only by faith and by earnest prayer. Who follows this way has a future and a hope.
