Most Christians believe that when man dies he goes in hell or in paradise. Instead all the Bible says that dead people are sleeping and all together will wakeup at the end, some for life and others for condemnation (John 5:28-29). This verse confirms that the the righteous dead people didn’t go to heaven yet but will wake up and go to heaven at the coming of Christ together with the righteous people alive at that moment.
