God was sometimes put by some of His people in the position to leave them at the discretion of their enemies, because of their refusal to allow themselves to be filled with His Spirit and love, thus becoming slaves to the spirit of wickedness that caused them to harm their neighbor. But those who are filled with the Spirit of God and love like Him, even if the enemy has their past mistakes to reproach and accuse them before divine justice, God will not please their enemies, because the believers are hidden in Christ, untouchable.
