In this short phrase God inspired Paul to say a lot of things in few words. The desire of God is to adopt us as His children in His Son (Eph 1:3-14) and faith becomes complete by the power of God. Practically we act at His order and He fulfills His word with power in our good works. In fact all the acts of a person that are in Christ are His creative work, and they themselves are a new creation.
