Fear is a kind of emotional drunkenness that can cause you to make hasty and unwise decisions. It is a great thing to be fearless, a necessary trait to be saved. In Rev 21:8 the Bible says that the fearful will not enter in heaven. Faith in God, as our verse also says, is the condition to be able to stay on God’s side, where you will be protected and safe, but it is put to the test by the feeling of fear created by various dangerous circumstances. So faith also involves being fearless because you trust God.
