  1. God’s forgiveness is not limited, as most believe, to being freed from the guilt of sin, but means: to be received by God and rehabilitated as His child, as the prodigal son was treated by his father. Also, the Lord Jesus promised that if we seek the kingdom of God, that is, to be part of His family, to be His children, and if we seek His righteousness, that is, to be rehabilitated as sons and daughters of God in His Son and to remain so in Christ, obeying (with Him and in His manner) the Father, all other things will be provided to us by default, because the heavenly Father, as it is normal for a true father, will take care of the needs of His children. In Ps 37 David doesn’t do other than to confirm that God has always been faithful and has done what He promised, the things mentioned above: He received and did not abandon anyone who became righteous, that was rehabilitated by Him through faith and remained in this state by faith, and took care of all his needs. The term “bread” in this verse, like most often in the Bible, has the generic meaning of “food”, or, even more, it refers to everything necessary to live, physically and spiritually, because man does not live only by bread, but by everything that proceeds from the mouth of God, that is: by His Word and Spirit, which are the source and basis of physical and spiritual existence in the absolute sense.
