The term translated here “to fail” is CALA, that means “to perish”. The idea of the verse is that in spite of the fact that the proud people of this world could prosper materially in this life, they perish, but the believers, even if they died, they will be resurrected and taken by Jesus into heaven with Him, to live eternally.
