David with his men, at the end of the cave, being conscious that the enemy is right at the entrance of it, felt like a baby bird that needs to hide under the wings of its mother bird, from the danger of the bird of prey. Only God could protect him, and how wonderful did He do it. If we want He already desires to gather us as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings. The secret it to have what David said he had, to be ready to trust in God. Jerusalem didn’t want this, refused to do this, and lost everything. We instead still have this opportunity. Even if the enemy is more dangerous then ever, under the wings of God anyone is saved.
