The term awesome is polysemantic, but in this verse, the Hebrew term IRA is to fear, so God in His sanctuary is fearful by His greatness and power, but the surprising thing is that He shares His greatness and power with His people. God calls us to share His greatness, that is to let Him leave His mark on everything we are, do, or think. The more we are available to His influence and let Him impress our personality with His greatness by faith, the more He will share His power with us. This is what Jesus did with His disciples and is ready to do with everyone that genuinely follow Him.
