The human mind uses magnifying glasses and magnifies certain things and reduces others. For some the face of God is to be avoided and they push it away as much as they can. For others, who know the love of God, His face is very close to them and His presence gives them stability, strength, balance, etc. The wise seek the Lord’s Face, because, as our verse also says, the satisfactions offered by His presence are incomparable
