  1. This is one of the most misunderstood verses in the Bible. Most believe that with baptism something miraculous happens in their bodies, but after a short while they are disappointed to find that they have the same weaknesses and are assailed by the same temptations as before and turn back to the old life living a hypocrite life for the eyes of people .
In fact, to understand the truth expressed here intuition only leads you astray. It is absolutely necessary to understand the message of the Good News of Christ. In Ps 33:9 there is an axiom of God’s creative work, by virtue of which we understand how we become a new creature in Christ: “God says and what he said already exists, He commands and what he commanded was already executed.” Everything that exists was created by the word of God, and being a new creature takes place in the same way, but here, considering that it is about creating free beings, faith is needed on the part of man, that is, of total trust in the Word of God. How does it work? When God gives a command in his command there is also the act. In it is the necessary faith for the act from God’s command to take place in the life of the believer who, acting through faith in the Word of God, is a continuous creation of Him, a new creature. In fact we were created in Christ for the good works that God has prepared for us to walk in His commandments. How does it practically work? Do you remember when Peter was in the boat and asked Jesus to command him to come to Him walking on the water? Why did he ask that? Because he knew he wouldn’t be able to do it by himself. Then Jesus said: “Come!”, and Peter walked on the water acting through faith in the power of the Word of the Son of God, who is creator. If Jesus didn’t say “Come!”, Peter could not walk on water, and when he stopped believing in the Word of Jesus, he stopped walking on water. In fact, Jesus told him: “oligopistos – man of insufficient faith!” This is a vivid illustration of how we become new creatures in Christ. As our old self was made of what the world instilled in us and so were our deeds, our new self is made of the Spirit and Word of Christ, and our life is a continuous fulfillment of His Word through faith.
